Abstract
In Sweden, systematic quality work (SQW) falls within the statutory obligations of preschools and leisure-time centres; this work takes up a significant portion of teachers’ time. This chapter describes and analyses the enactment of SQW in municipal arenas as well as its pedagogical practices in both preschools and leisure-time centres. In this chapter, SQW is discussed as a recontextualised discourse. In terms of the enactment of SQW, the norms and traditions within discursive practices are also discussed. In this chapter, documentation is shown to be a crucial aspect of teachers’ SQW in terms of governance, materiality, sense-making, resistance, learning, and the achievement of objectives.
