Abstract
In order to successfully optimize the design and manufacture of wood products, the interaction of process variables must be known. These interactions may be described in the form of functional relationships or given in graphic representations. They can be derived by theoretical deductions or from experimental measurements. Most of our knowledge originates from experiments, and the range of validity of the results that are obtained fundamentally depends on the chosen processing technique.
