Abstract

Fractional powers of operators aroused the interest of mathematicians in the 1960s in [36,167{169, 204, 205] and have been extensively studied since then. They have applications in the theory of semi-groups [164], they allow to de_ne interpolation spaces [113] and they provide the theoretical background for de_ning fractional evolution equations [48].
