Abstract
The Department of Transportation regulates the transportation of radioactive materials. Types of packaging, sturdiness of packages, and categories of materials for shipment are discussed.
Requirements of survey by both survey meters and wipe tests are presented. Labeling requirement of packages is presented. Exempt conditions for empty packages and packages with limited quantity of radioactive material are explained. The regulations for the use of vehicles for transporting radioactive materials are discussed. Also, the requirement for training of personnel is mentioned.
