Abstract
Lung interstitium may be affected by a variety of factors. For the clinician, it is important to exclude idiopathic ILD from those with a known aetiology, and to decide, how to proceed with the treatment. The consensus on a specific diagnosis should be handled by an experienced team, to avoid missing the rare types of ILD. The diagnosis of ILD cannot be determined based on the result of one examination and face-to-face detailed patient interview remains an irreplaceable building block for clinicians.
