Faith Community Nursing

Abstract

The Institute of Medicine promotes that all nurses practice to the full extent of their licensure. This chapter will explore the role of the faith community nurse who has graduate level nursing preparation as an advanced practice nurse. Differences in faith community nursing practice will be discussed based on educational preparation. Consideration will be given to how nurses who have graduate level preparation as well as faith community nursing course completion can shape the future of health care creating more efficient, cost effective accessible opportunities for delivery of whole person care.
