Abstract
Faith communities and health systems may be perceived as unlikely partners. However, with shared missions and visions, the two entities can create a powerful partnership by bringing the resources of a health care system into the life of a faith community. Examples of effective, cost conscious health programming will be presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of such a partnership. Several topics will be covered such as: Evidence-Based Approaches to Meeting Community Needs; Role of a Faith Community Nurse in Life Transitions; Engaging Faith Community Nurses in Innovative Ways; Local, State, and National Initiatives; Transformation of Faith Community Nursing through Technology; Benefits of Faith Community Involvement; and Faith Community Nursing as an International Phenomenon.
