Abstract
The article presents evaluation of newly developed microwave moisture analyzer for moisture content measurements, for drying and heating applications. This microwave device operates at 2.45 GHz and consists of waveguide line and resonant chamber optimized with the use of microwave simulation software. The work presents results of tests of developed system, carried out in climatic chamber, allowing air humidity and temperature adjustment in broad range. Experiments were carried out in 20 ℃ to 40 ℃ and humidity from 40% to 80%. The study showed that, using developed microwave moisture analyzer, it is possible to dry and measure moisture content in a given sample significantly faster than in traditional methods. This relates also to extreme environmental conditions, in which the system was validated and proved its operating parameters. The results were in line with reference method of determining moisture content in samples.
