Abstract
This chapter discusses the changing face of global agriculture, where emphasis is laid on the sustainable use of important resources like soil. Discussion in the chapter also relates to the skewed use of global resources, which leads to, as of now, 95% of the global population being deprived of a dignified life. This emphasizes the crucial fact that when agriculture, a crucial source of sustenance of livelihood for the millions of the world’s poor and deprived, faces such external threats, the very existence of the millions of poor will be at stake.
