Abstract
Studies and measures to combat the effects of climate change are drawing more and more attention from governments, businesses, and society. The objective of this study is to select a method that allows to evaluate environmentally sustainable strategies that improve production processes. For that purpose, a literature review enabled to identify, in the publications, different methods adopted to address the concept of eco-innovation from different theoretical perspectives. This search revealed methods such as eco-design, multivariate analysis, scenarios, and simulation, which are important to evaluate sustainable innovations and can be applied depending on the objective of each study. Finally, System Dynamics was selected to evaluate policies because it enables to define and design models based on an abstraction of reality, which allows to visualize the possible effects of adopting a new strategy or new organizational structure on an existing system.
