Abstract
Patient blood management in cardiac surgery can only be effective if the theater team and intensive care staff collaborate. Excellent teamwork however requires insight in system ergonomics and non-technical skills. This chapter will illustrate specific interventions that can be introduced in a local clinical setting to enhance teamworking and improve performace and outcomes.
