Abstract

This chapter offers a succinct overview of common cosmetic procedures performed by dermatologists. Neuromodulation, soft-tissue augmentation, resurfacing procedures, lasers, sclerotherapy, and platelet-rich-plasma therapy are reviewed. Understanding general principles, risks, indications, and contraindications of a procedure are discussed to ensure the safe and efficacious treatment of patients. This concise chapter should not be used as a comprehensive review, and all procedures should be performed with or by those fully adept and trained in cosmetic dermatology.
