Abstract

This chapter deals with the all important emergencies in orthopedics which one may encounter anytime during one’s career and covers all essentials such as open fractures, details regarding compartment syndrome at all the levels of the human body, details regarding fasciotomy, brief description of dislocations and septic arthritis of the joints, and most important emergencies like the conus medullaris and cauda equina syndromes which are frequently overlooked.
