The Role of Social Capital in Development of Agricultural Entrepreneurship

Abstract

The purpose of the article was to study the essence and features of the social capital of the agrarian sector as a factor for the development of agrarian entrepreneurship. The information base of the research is the result of the study of the essence and functional features of the development of entrepreneurship, agrarian entrepreneurship and social capital, data from the World Bank, the European Social Survey, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, scientific articles and monographs, and their own contributions by the authors. The essence of the concepts of “entrepreneurship,” “agrarian entrepreneurship,” and “social capital” is defined in the article on the basis of working out literary sources. In the course of calculations revealed the relationship between the internal intangible product per capita, the index of ease of doing business, as well as the level of trust in society. The conclusion about the influence of social capital on entrepreneurship development is made. The development of institutes of agrarian entrepreneurship is connected with agricultural cooperation, and the general scheme of formation of preconditions of its development on the basis of trust is offered.
