Abstract
Limb salvage in the context of lower extremity deformity, posttraumatic arthritis, diabetic neuroarthropathy, osteomyelitis, and failed total ankle arthroplasty can pose a challenging clinical and surgical picture. Few definitive options are available to the foot and ankle surgeon in effort to prevent amputation, yet provide pain relief. Tibiotalocalcaneal (TTC) arthrodesis is a powerful intervention available toward the effort to provide such challenging patients with a viable limb that is functional, stable, and predictable in the near term as well as long term. It has been explored extensively in the literature through a wide range of clinical presentations.
