This chapter presents the basic criteria for safety verification, starting from the probabilistic definitions of the involved quantities, such as the action and the resistance, and proceeding with the presentation of the verification modes applicable to the frame structures, up to the detailed description of the semi-probabilistic limit states’ method that is universally adopted for the structural design.
