Abstract

Twitter has emerged as a widely used social media platform for medical professionals. While the character limitations of Twitter can make it challenging to discuss complicated medical conditions, the ability to include links, retweet content, comment on posts, and link tweets together makes this a very effective way to disseminate information. Medical professionals can use Twitter in various ways, not only for communicating with patients and the public but for professional networking as well. This chapter will focus on tips and practical steps to help increase one’s profile on Twitter and grow an audience.

LinkedIn is for the people you know. Facebook is for the people you used to know. Twitter is for people you want to know
