Abstract

The various cutaneous approaches to brow lifting all utilize excision of tissue to elevate the brows and in some cases rejuvenate the forehead. Each technique seeks to conceal the incision, whether at the junction of the cosmetic units of the face, within the hair-bearing scalp, or within natural forehead rhytides that follow the relaxed skin tension lines of the face. This chapter details the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the ideal candidates for the direct supraciliary, mid-forehead, pretrichial/trichophytic, coronal, and temporal brow lifts. Each can be used effectively in the appropriate patient, and the authors’ preferred surgical technique for each procedure is described in detail.
