Abstract
Lower lid ectropion or eversion of the eyelid is a common disorder encountered by the oculofacial surgeon. Ectropions are classified according to etiology and include congenital, involutional, cicatricial, mechanical, and paralytic (neuropraxic). In many instances eyelid retraction is present and must be considered to maximize treatment. Repair is surgical and directed toward addressing the underlying structural deficiencies.
