Abstract
Based on a reading of Sigmund Freud’s Totem and Taboo (published originally in 1913) the editor introduces the contributions to this volume as illustrations of what he calls ‘sensory criminology’. With its emphasis being on the visual, and on visual experience, the volume adds not just to the fields of ‘war and criminology’, but to ‘visual criminology’ as well.
