Abstract
In the modern conditions, the potential of tax policy in terms of creating conditions for self-organization and self-development of regions, as a holistic mechanism for their adaptation to the strategic priorities of innovation and investment activities in the economy of the Federation as a whole and its subjects, is not being adequately used. The problem of managing the socio-economic development of regions through the mechanism of tax policy with the condition of ensuring their economic security is relevant and acute. The authors reveal the theoretical and practical aspects of the impact of special tax policy instruments on the economic security of the region in order to achieve an optimal, balanced economic structure of the Volgograd region. It justifies the conclusion about the need for the development and subsequent implementation of a targeted state program to eliminate imbalances and optimize the structure of the economy of the Volgograd region.
