Abstract
The next step involves going from systems to structures, i.e. from the process to the product. The organization follows that of Chap. 4 in order to simplify comparisons with the treatment of the ‘recognized’ and the ‘explained’ there. That chapter juxtaposed the theory of the structure of the world (Chap. 4, Sect. 4.1) with a theory of its explainability. The order of things (in Sect. 4.2) was juxtaposed with the order of the causes. The separation into the principles of morphology (Sect. 4.3) and of systematics (Sect. 4.4) coalesces again here in the explanatory context.
