Abstract
I do not remember the ambulance ride nor its drivers who came quickly to pick me up after my 911 call early on Feb. 1. I remember nothing of the 20-mile drive to Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital in the nearby town of Lafayette. I have no mental image of any of the medical personnel who worked to save my life in the Emergency Room. Indeed, from the time that I placed the 911 call until nearly three weeks later, I remember almost nothing at all.
