Growing Older in the Emergency Department

Abstract

When an older adult enters the emergency department, it is necessary for health-care providers to understand the differences between normal aging and illness. Changes happen in the human body over time, and this chapter will present some common changes that accompany aging and should be expected when seeing an older adult in the emergency department.
