Abstract

Some cutaneous lymphoid infiltrates may exhibit perifollicular accentuation. Cutaneous marginal zone B-cell lymphoma often demonstrates vertical orientation of the infiltrate adjacent to hair follicles. Folliculotropic mycosis fungoides is a variant of mycosis fungoides showing tropism for hair follicles. In addition, a follicular variant of lymphomatoid papulosis has been described. A few benign dermatoses may also demonstrate perifollicular accentuation, including lymphomatoid drug eruption, pseudolymphomatous folliculitis, arthropod bite reactions, and herpes folliculitis.
