Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify the importance of human capital in the digital economy. The authors substantiate the relevance of knowledge as an element of human capital to ensure its effective functioning. The impact of widespread digitalization in all socio-economic processes on the development of this type of capital was observed. The importance of knowledge led to the emphasis in the study of attention to the identification of problems of the modern education system through the prism of the difficulties faced by graduates of educational institutions. According to the authors, the assessment of human capital should be expressed in assessing the level of qualifications of both graduates and employees of economic entities. In the framework of this study, a survey of business entities in the Samara region is conducted to identify the graduates’ employment problems (the human capital formation problem at the beginning of the individual career path in the digital economy) and to determine the level of employees’ financial literacy (the problem of human capital growth in the digital economy). In order to form comprehensive view of human capital development prospects the scoring the results method was applied for these surveys.
