Abstract

Aortic diseases frequently seen in the adult include the acquired aortic lesions, such as the aortic aneurysms, aortic occlusive disease, aortic dissections, and aortic trauma. Each of these adult acquired lesions is uncommon in the pediatric age group; thus, individual series are uncommon and only report on a few patients. A review of our patients, under the age of 21 years, with aortic trauma revealed a number of patients with varied etiologies and results, including gunshot wound, aortic trauma, and penetration wounds. These patients, their treatment, and their results are herein reported.
