Abstract
We live in a competitive world, in which a job for life is no longer a reality and experiencing redundancy at least once in your lifetime becomes the norm. Although some people may be compensated in a way that works for them, redundancy to most is not welcome news. My goal for this chapter is to give you not only background information on the topic of redundancy but more importantly also practical guidelines on how to cope following news of redundancy. As such, I will be focusing on three aspects:

How to ensure that your redundancy process is a fair one.

How to deal with the emotional aspects following on from the redundancy.

3.
What you should do, to carve a new chapter in your life, i.e. post-redundancy period.
