Abstract

This chapter first discusses the limitation of the studies included in this volume; subsequently, based on the findings from the preceding chapters, discusses the implications for vocabulary learning and instruction, the role of cross-linguistic transfer, and the importance of morphological awareness, lexical inference, and depth of vocabulary knowledge in content area learning in Chinese. This chapter also provides a detailed example of morphological instruction of academic vocabulary in Chinese.
