Abstract

Soil erosion is the detachment and transport of soil particles by a transporting agent, predominantly water flowing over the soil surface (runoff). In Dogu’a Tembien, millennia of plough-based agriculture, steep topography, population pressure and poverty have contributed to accelerated soil erosion processes.
