Abstract
Housing is a ‘hot’ public and private issue in Saudi Arabia. In the press and on TV, it joins Vision 2030 , the moral hazards posed by the latest media, young people remaining single for longer and rising divorce statistics. The public housing issues concern supply (not enough) and the costs of purchasing and renting (too high and rising too steeply), though Western readers will consider costs on the low side given that Saudis have roughly the same purchasing power as Americans.
