Abstract
The Vietnam’s economic growth has been high in the 30 years of Renovation and ranked the second of the world (after the China’s one) for several years, which is highly appreciated by the international community. However, there are inadequacies and discrepancies between the rate and quality of the growth. The questions are whether such rate and quality of the growth are commensurate with the potential of Vietnam or not, what is the position of Vietnam in the region and what Vietnam should do to narrow the development gap in comparison with regional countries. This paper has given some answers to such questions.
