Abstract

Fuzzy control has become one of the most popular topics in automatic control engineering. The classical and intelligent fuzzy based control theory is taught in most undergraduate and postgraduate control engineering courses. In addition, the theory is backed-up by real control experiments carried out in the laboratories. One of the problems with real laboratory experiments is that they are usually very expensive and are beyond the budgets of many institutions. This paper describes the design of a low-cost fuzzy temperature control experiment using a microcontroller as an embedded processor.
