Abstract

“Actors, Aims and Challenges of Local Strategic Planning in Spain” by José M. Ruano offers an overview of the experiences of strategic planning in Spain, drawing attention to the kind of processes designed and implemented and the territorial area covered by them. As well as looking at their strategic lines and objectives and their possible electoral effect, the chapter explores in depth 12 cases of planning, analyzing the values and the methodology used, the extent of the stakeholders’ engagement, the achievements and the main barriers detected in the process.
