Abstract

This paper examines the repositioned shared services paradigm to Integrated Business Services (IBS), as changing the operational and organizational set-up of shared services towards functional-based and process driven service delivery philosophy. The rationale behind combining services and data driven business models together to understand the phenomenon of big data in terms of, how data must be treated in relation to gathering, analysis and customers’ behaviour patterns together with perceived value proposition to create better services via IBS models. A number of researchers’ have identified IBS as an extension of business servitization which links service with technology to provide far greater value for its customers. Further, based on literature and IBS model, a case study was conducted for an Italian Bank such as UniCredit, to understand the extent to which they have evolved their business lines and service lines to provide multi-service with data driven insights, using the same resources, networks and customers.
