Abstract
Son’allah Ibrahim’s popularity in Egypt and the Arab world came from his defiance of censorship and his disdain for fame and money, choosing to live as a true ascetic and reject the most prestigious literary prize in his country. Fawwaz Haddad proved to be an astonishing talent in his renditions of the past in his novels with unprecedented, intriguing technique and foresight. Nawal el-Saadawi’s struggle comprised over 38 books and a long career in medicine and social affairs, which internationally established her dignified and distinguished legacy as a true Arab feminist revolutionary.
