Abstract
Following the successful isolation of a series of closed-shell tetrylidyne complexes of the general formula [Tp′(CO)2M≡E–R] (M = Mo, W; E = Si – Pb; R = Tbb, C6H3-2,6-Mes2), my next target was to obtain open-shell tetrylidyne complexes containing a tetrel-centered unpaired electron.

Notes
- 1.
The Mo-CCO bond lengths (Mo-C40 and Mo-C41) in compound 8-Mo are 1.973(7) [1.966(7)] Å and 1.979(7) [1.971(7)] Å, respectively, leading to an average Mo–CO bond length of 1.972 Å.
