Abstract

The term “robot” is defined by the Robot Institute of America as “A re-programmable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools, or specialized devices through various programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks.” An intelligent robot is a machine that can extract information from its environment and use knowledge about the physical world to move safely in a meaningful and purposeful manner.
