Abstract

This chapter furthers ideas about men’s experiences of fat and draws connections between body, identity and thwarted belonging, along with the effects of stigma and spoiled identity. Ambivalent experience of using online pro-eating disorders spaces is discussed. Prevalent findings about male ideals of muscularity are juxtaposed with a desire of slenderness. Sex, belonging, and desire in male eating disorders are explored.
