Abstract

The Apollo moon mission must rank as one of the most audacious scientific exploration programs attempted by man. The mission involved launching a manned spacecraft into earth orbit, then setting it on a trajectory to orbit the moon. An independent spacecraft with two astronauts aboard was detached from the orbiting vehicle and made a soft landing on the moon.
