Abstract

Worldwide ecotourism has become a new perspective for integrating nature, culture, and the tourism sector. Though ecotourism has been touted as a “green”—that is, ecologically sound—form of tourism, it can paradoxically lead to the degradation of the sites it seeks to protect.
