Abstract
Synchrotron radiation methods provide direct information on the chemical bonds formed by metals. The investigation of local structure of Haplic Chernozem saturated with Cu2+ and Pb2+ ions using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XANES and EXAFS) was performed. As a result of the study, the reliable qualitative data on the nature of bonds formed by metal atoms have been obtained and the mechanism of their interaction with soil phases and all the chemical bindings occurring in the course of this process were determined.
