Decolonial Pedagogy

Abstract

This chapter extends the discourse in this anthology by positing that the soul is essential to lasting decolonial change. It takes up the question of how to transform the public sphere from the starting point of the soul’s role in healing colonial trauma. It seeks to achieve this task by mapping the trajectory of the soul from a point of decolonial awakening to a full decolonial renewal of the spirit that has lasting implications on the society. Decolonial futurities are invoked in this chapter, pointing our pathways towards communal revitalization of our planet. This revitalization is based on love, spirituality and decolonial resurgence. Liberation from colonial trauma and logics is at the heart of this chapter. Concepts that are discussed include the Cartesian separations, ancestral arc, re-membering and healing.
