Abstract

In Chap. 6 we learned about the stars and that all individual stars we see are contained in our home galaxy, the Milky Way. It has been estimated that 80% of the people who live in North America cannot see the Milky Way due to light pollution. At sea the opportunity to view the Milky Way in all its glory is a real possibility, depending on the time of year, the phase of the Moon, your location, how bright the ship is and weather conditions.
