Abstract

The measurement of the muon channel cross section was not performed by myself and was added after the time of my master thesis. The analysis is documented in detail in the following thesis (Hickling, Measuring the Drell–Yan cross section at high mass in the dimuon channel. Queen Mary University of London, London, 2014, [1]) and in the publication (Aad et al JHEP 08: 009, 2016, [2]). Nonetheless, the measurement of the cross section will be briefly discussed in the following, since the muon channel cross section is used as input in the following chapters.
