Abstract
The first stage is begun in dorsal decubitus or in very slight head-down tilt to facilitate identification of the inframammary crease, and with the arms beside the body.
The peripheral limits of the mammary gland are marked on the skin.
The approach route must be:
-
large enough to allow proper dissection and meticulous hemostasis;
-
situated near the areola, as it is here that the glandular cleavage is most tricky, and therefore not to be situated outside the skin excision that may be required at the stage of readjustment of the skin envelope to the prosthesis.
