Abstract
It seems inopportune to distinguish betwen the surgical treatment of hypertrophy and that of ptosis. In practice, in the great majority of cases, due to the simultaneous development, though in variable proportion, of the skin envelope and of the gland and to the secondary ill-effects of gravity, hypertrophy is usually associated with ptosis in varying degree.
