Abstract

Table 4 and fig. 23 page 209 give an overview of factors that increase tHcy and indicates the levels that are to be expected in various conditions. The commonest reasons for elevated tHcy are functional vitamin deficiency owing to low intake, deficient absorption, decreased enzymatic activity, interactions with drugs or lifestyle factors, and increased requirement caused by diseases.
