Cancer Treatment An Update

Abstract

Before Bleomycin (BLM) was developed, there were almost no reports on the 5-year survivals of the patients with recurrent or advanced head and neck cancer who was treated with chemotherapy alone. After the appearance of BLM, however, there are some reports on the long-term surviving patients cured with BLM, but only in early or small recurrent diseases. Since combination chemotherapy based on cell kinetics and Cisplatin (CDDP) appeared, we have observed the long-term survivals even in recurrent or advanced cancer [1]. The purpose of this paper is to present the long-term follow-up of the patients with recurrent or advanced head and neck cancer who received chemotherapy for palliation.
