Résumé
Le champ des biomarqueurs est vaste, de la prévention au traitement en passant par la détection des populations cibles. Il est très fréquemment associé au concept de médecine personnalisée regroupant la théranostique et la recherche de test compagnon [1]. C’est actuellement un sujet qui suscite un intérêt majeur et une curiosité au sein de l’ensemble de la communauté médicale et de l’industrie pharmaceutique. Le concept de biomarqueur n’est pas nouveau, leur utilisation dans le domaine de la Recherche et Développement du médicament et du diagnostic date de plusieurs dizaines d’années. Ce sont l’apparition des nouvelles technologies permettant d’étendre les possibilités d’analyse comme la génomique, la protéomique et la métabolomique, combinées avec le développement des automates et de systèmes biologiques intégrés et l’amélioration de la sensibilité analytique, au cours des dix dernières années, qui ont conduit à une accélération du taux de découverte de biomarqueurs et une amélioration majeure de la qualité et de l’utilité de ces marqueurs.
